Museum of memories
How do memories influence the individual I am today. Which experiences make people who they are?
Sharing memories is a big part of interactions between people, in stories, on social media. Our lives are stories, stories we share with others. Stories which we write with others, which connect us.
My images tell my own story but just as well different stories, universal stories. The separate elements can have a different meaning to different people. Images are a part of their identity and can connect people.
Past, present and future
This installation deals with my curiosity on which images, stories and experiences have an influence on the different phases of my life. Which elements formed my identity and how are they connected?
In the panel future, I am trying to make a balance. Do we need more perspective? Why do people hold on to certain views? Shouldn't the positive side of evolution be more emphasized to inspire people to start doing something about the challenges in our lives?
Feelings!
A war journalist once said: "From the moment I becomen insensitive, it is time to stop". This made me think ... How do people feel about others? Do we switch tv channel when seeing images of war victims day after day? How much do we care about our neighbour?
What is our world's state regarding humanity? People have to deal with their own challenges day after day but how about our care for others, our environment, an inclusive world ... This piece is meant to trigger the viewer to internalize and think about it.
Together!
I was born in the 70s, into a world full of wonder and endless possibilities. I grew up feeling the thrill of freedom ... like anything could happen, like the whole world was within reach. It was a time of dreams, of movement, of lightness.
But the world has changed. Somewhere along the way, something shifted. The rise of individualism has left cracks in the path. The road feels rockier now ... less certain, more fragile. And I find myself asking: are we drifting too far from one another? From what truly matters?
In these uncertain times, something inside calls louder than ever: stay close. Hold on. Look after each other.
Because it’s when things get hard that friendship shows up stronger. It's when life feels rocky that we remember we are not meant to walk it alone.
This heart...fragile, transparent, full of souls, is held not by strength, but by togetherness. We are the warmth around each other. The shield against the cold.
